Nigerian singer and songwriter Seyi Shay has revealed that she once dated renowned rapper Vector the Viper.
The disclosure came during a recent episode of her talk show, Sharing with Seyi, as she reflected on her acting debut in the 2018 Nollywood film Lara and the Beat.
While discussing her on-screen chemistry with Vector, Seyi Shay admitted it was more than just acting—it stemmed from a real-life relationship the two shared at the time.
“Vector and I… we were actually an item,” she said.
She explained that their connection predated their rise to fame, which contributed to the authenticity and ease of their performances during the film’s production.
Adding an unexpected layer to the story, Seyi noted that Vector’s wife was present on set throughout filming, including during intimate scenes.
She commended her for being supportive and composed during the entire process.
“She was like, ‘Oh yeah, do the kiss!’” Seyi recalled, emphasizing how respectful and encouraging Vector’s wife was.
Despite what could have been an awkward dynamic, Seyi stressed that professionalism was maintained at all times.
She also affirmed that there are no lingering issues between her and Vector.
“He and I have remained great friends regardless,” she concluded.
