By Olusegun Lawrence Sequel to a motion sponsored by Senator Biodun Olujimi (Ekiti), the Senate Wednesday directed its Committee on National Security and National intelligence to conduct an investigation into invasion of Ekiti State House of Assembly by the operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.
The committee which has been directed to look into the immediate and remote causes of the invasion has two weeks to report back.
Senator Olujimi, in the motion had described the action of DSS on state of Assembly as barbaric.
“This action is not only unconstitutional, illegal and unlawful but a plot to harass intimidate and embarrass the people and government of Ekiti State, she posited.
Corroborating the submission of Olujimi, Senate Leader, Ali Ndume said what happened in Ekiti Assembly was wrong.
Prompt News recalls that operatives of DSS invaded Ekiti Assembly last week Friday, abducting five of the lawmakers.
