The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has congratulated the newly appointed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, describing his choice as “God made’’.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Secretary-General of the Council, stated in a statement in Abuja on Monday that Sanusi’s appointment “convinced us that a good choice has been made’’.
NSCIA described Sanusi’s enviable record in public administration and his erudity in knowledge, especially in Islamic law as an added advantage for him as the new Emir of Kano.

Oloyede said the entire Muslim community in Nigeria “wishes His Royal Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, a long fruitful and productive tenure in the advancement of Kano emirate, the nation and the humanity’’.
The former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria was announced as the new Emir of Kano on Sunday following the demise of Ado Bayero, on Friday at the age of 84, having reigned for 51 years.
