Elegbeleye are among dignitaries expected at the opening ceremony of the 2013 CBN Beach Soccer Challenge Cup in Abuja on Friday.
Also expected at the occasion are Member of the NFF Executive Committee, Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, NFF General Secretary, Musa Amadu and Central Bank of Nigeria’s Director of Corporate Communications, Ugo Okoroafor.
Eight teams will take part in the second edition of a competition that is programmed to kindle nationwide interest in the game of beach soccer preparatory to the launching of a National Beach Soccer League.
Mr. Taye Olajide of Sports Solutions said on Wednesday that the eight teams expected at the tournament are Fidelity Bank Strikers, Team Kaduna, Kogi Confluence Beach Boys, Aso Savings and Loans FC, Sterling Bank FC, Nasarawa Beach Soccer FC, Team FCT and Anambra Beach Soccer
On the opening day, Fidelity will clash with Kaduna; Aso Savings will lock horns with Kogi Confluence; Team FCT will tackle Anambra and; Sterling Bank will clash with Nasarawa. All matches start at 2pm.
On Saturday, the classification matches and the semi final matches will hold, with the classification finals and the tournament Final holding on Sunday.
All the matches will hold at the brand-new Beach Soccer Pitch, Accra Street, Zone 5, Abuja.
