With most Nigerians in support of his retention as the Super Eagles Head Coach till December 2022, Gernot Rohr has expressed his joy to have signed a contract extension which will enable him to complete the job of building a strong team senior national team for Nigeria.
The Franco-German appended his signature to a two and half years contract renewal early this week after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) leadership had signed their own part of the contract to allow Rohr continue on his position as Super Eagles Head Coach.
The news of the contract renewal was broken by the NFF supremo, Amaju Melvin Pinnick via the social media platform, adding that the gaffer has been given a the order to win the next African Cup of Nations (AFCON) and qualify Nigeria for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
But an Assistant to Rohr, Tunde Adelakun told Prompt News that the experienced coach is happy to sign contract a extension, pointing out that both parties are glad to sign a new to put the matter to rest.
According to him, “a new contract has been signed between Coach Rohr and NFF. It is till December 2022. He is happy to sign the contract extension.
“With the signing over he is looking forward to when football will resume so he can bring his players together again. He has vowed to continue the good job with the Super Eagles “.
