Oyo State Government has directed occupants and owners of illegally-erected kiosks, containers and shanties as well as other roadside traders to vacate the roadsides within seven days or face sanctions.
Oyo State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mr Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, gave the directive in Ibadan on Tuesday while on an inspection tour of Ojoo area of the tate.
Mogbonjubola said that the illegal occupants were causing unwarranted obstruction of road traffic.
The commissioner said that their operations were contrary to the state’s Environmental Sanitation Regulation, 2013.
He said that their operations constituted environmental nuisance.
