The stay at home order seems to be for only the residents of Abuja City as their counterparts in the suburbs are resisting the lockdown order.
Prompt News can confirm that some residents in the Abuja suburbs like Gwagwalada, Kuje, Bwari, Kubwa, Lugbe, Kugbo, Gwas, Mpape, Kabusa and Dutse Alhaji villages did not fully comply with the stay at home order.
Our correspondent who drove round some of the areas mentioned reports that most people were on the road looking for their daily bread.
Some businesses still opened even those not designated as selling food items and medicines.
Also, commercial vehicle, tricycle and motorcycle operators are still operating in these areas even with the presence of security agencies on the streets as some of them argued that they have to earn a daily living.
Prompt News can also confirm that residents in the highbrow areas of Abuja like Asokoro, Maitama, Apo, Gudu, Wuse, Garki, Utako, Jabi, Lokogoma and Galadimawa however, observed the lockdown.
Vehicular movements in the above mentioned areas were almost non-existent for the most part of the first and second days of the lockdown.
It remains to be seen how the 12 days of the lockdown order occasioned by the novel Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world will play out.
