Napoli have announced that their Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen is back in training following the injury he sustained against Inter Milan on November 21, PNO SPORTS reports.
Osimhen suffered the nasty facial injury after colliding with Inter’s defender Milan Skriniar.
The 22-year-old went through a successful but complicated surgery and was initially ruled out for three months.
The forward has however made a swift recovery three weeks after the surgery as he was spotted on the training pitch for the first time since the injury on Wednesday.
In a picture posted on Napoli’s social media pages, Osimhen was spotted wearing a hoodie mask as protection while working with the ball.
Osimhen’s return to training will be sweet music to the ears of Nigeria fans and manager Gernot Rohr as there is now a glimmer of hope that the number 9 is back in contention to be included on the Super Eagles roster for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
He has already scored nine goals in 14 appearances across all competitions do Napoli this season.
