Marc Cucurella has completed his move to Real Madrid as a deal is reached between the two sides.
Cucurella informed the Blues of his desire to leave the club during this summer’s transfer window and he has now found his escape to the Spanish capital as Los Blancos snap him up.
According to reports, Chelsea had agreed a £51.7M total package for Cucurella to join Madrid, which is believed to include an initial fee worth £47.4M plus a further £4.3M in add-ons.
Chelsea released a statement, thanking the defender for his service to the side: “Marc Cucurella has completed a permanent transfer to Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid.”
“Everyone at Chelsea FC would like to thank Marc for his efforts during his time at the club and for the role he played in our recent achievements.
“We wish him every success as he begins the next stage of his career.”
Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso will now have to replace the defender ahead of the new season, as he prepares to step into the role on July 1st.
