The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dahiru Ahmed, as winner of the Saturday’s re-run election for Tambuwal West House of Assembly seat.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Bayero Kasim, announced the results following the conclusion of the election on Saturday.
Bayero said Ahmed won the election with a total number of 19,315 votes.
He defeated his closest opponent and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sule Romo, who polled a total of 19,021 votes.
Meanwhile, INEC also declared Magaji Abubakar of PDP as the winner of Bodinga North State House of Assembly seat having scored a total of 6,488 votes.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Tambuwal, said Abubakar defeated his close rival, Yusuf Danchadi of APC, with a total of 5,893 votes.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Saturday’s re-run elections were conducted following the verdicts of the Appeal Court where 2023 Assembly elections were challenged by the political parties. (NAN)
