New head coach of the senior female national team Super Falcons, Randy Waldrum has stated that age has caught up with the current players of the team and doubts the possibility of the squad to take the nation to the promised land.
Waldrum made this known after the team managed 1 – 0 defeat against CSK ladies in the onging invitational tournament in Moscow, stating that a rebuilding process of the entire team has commence with the tournament.
He said there was need to have more younger players in the team than the current squad made up of 80% aged players.
“Football has to do with age. To rebuild and have quality team, you need younger players with energy and pace. Though experience is needed to beef up the team for a better result.
“I will focus on player players ahead of 2023 world cup. I want the super falcons to make an impact at the world stage.
Waldrum promised to be in Nigeria after the invitational tournament to watch the on going Nigeria Women League.
