Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ebere Eze is still undecided over his international future despite overtures from Nigeria head coach, Gernot Rohr.
Eze who is born to Nigerian parents , trained with the Super Eagles in October , 2017 but later featured for the England U-20 side.
Eze was called up to the England U-21 squad in September this year by manager Aidy Boothroyd for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers against Turkey and Kosovo.He was an unused substitute on both occasions.
He is however still eligible to play for Nigeria as he is yet to feature for England’s senior side.
The 21-year-old has been in fantastic form for QPR in the Sky Bet Championship this season and has scored six goals in 14 league appearances for the Londoners.
The talented midfielder is seen as the long -sought successor to former Super Eagles captain, Austine Jay Jay Okocha.
“We have approached him, but not directly. Tunde Adelakun , my assistant, spoke to his mum. What we understand is that there is a lot of pressure on him and Ebere Eze doesn’t want to give an
answer now,”Rohr told veteran journalist, Osasu Obayiwana in an interview.
“Obviously, we would love to have him in the @NGSuperEagles, of course! We continue to work on getting him. It may take some time.”
