The Nasarawa state command of the Nigeria Police Force, has paraded 28 suspects in connection with alleged armed robbery, kidnapping and banditry.
State Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe made this known parading of the suspects and relaunching of the Nigeria Police Force ‘Operation Puff Adder 2’ in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital.
The CP said the arrest were part of the achievements recorded from January 1st 2021 to date.
According to the commissioner, Saaondoo Akaa ‘male 24 years, Isah Gole ‘male 25, and Usman Abubakar ‘male 35 years old were arrested in their hideout in Awe local government area, in connection with kidnapping.
He disclosed that at about 11:35pm on 12th January, 2021, the police received
information that gunmen numbering about six who were shooting sporadically, invaded the premises of a guest house in Awe LGA and kidnapped one Kingsley Obute to unknown destination and there after collected a ransom.
“Consequently, on 08/02 2021 while on actionable intelligence, the following suspects were arrested in their hideout in Awe LGA one locally fabricated gun a dragger and one machete were recovered from them as exhibit,” the CP said.
Also paraded were two suspected bandits who were arrested on their way from Udege in Nasarawa local government areas to procure rounds of AK47 live ammunition in Keana LGA of the state.
Longe, while relaunching the Nigeria Police Force Operation Puff Adder 2, said that well equipped police personnel comprising Mobile police, Special Forces and Counter Terrorists officers had been deployed to five strategic flash point to tackle frontally any form of insecurity in the state.
He said the Operation Puff Adder 2 would work closely with 503 trained Special Constables who are providing the police with credible information on criminal activities in their various communities to achieve the desired results.
He therefore, warned criminals who may be nursing agenda that are inimical to the safety and security of the state to desist from such act as the police in the state will not relent in mobilizing all resources at its disposal to confront and render their operations fruitless.
