The Police Command in Kaduna State said its operatives have detained no fewer than 523 suspects from Oct. 21 to date.
The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna state Command, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi disclosed this at a press briefing on Monday in Kaduna.
Abdullahi said, “Since my assumption of duty as the 44th Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, on Oct. 21, I have prioritised proactive policing, community engagements and collaboration with other security agencies to ensure safety and security of all residents of the state.
“I am pleased to inform you that the strategies we have implemented have resulted in significant operational successes, with the unwavering dedication and professionalism of our officers and men.”
He said a total of 523 suspects have been apprehended for involvement in various criminal activities including; kidnappers, cattle rustlers, phone snatchers, car snatchers, rape suspects and gunrunners amongst others.
“As we transit into the ember months, efforts have been intensified to tackle crime across the state.
“The Command has also recovered five AK47 rifles, two pistols, one submachine gun within the period under review,” he said.
Abdullahi also disclosed that a total of 303 livestock have been recovered from rustlers, comprising; 283 rustled cows and 20 Sheep.
The commissioner said 102 kidnapped victims were rescued within the period under review.
He said some of the suspects have been charged to court for prosecution and others were still under investigation, assuring that on completion, they would also be charged to court for prosecution.
Abdullahi said, “These achievements underscore the Kaduna State Police Command’s dedication to tackling crime and safeguarding lives and property.
“I wish to express my gratitude to the officers, men, and members of the public who continue to provide critical information leading to the successes we celebrate today.
“I assure you that the command will not relent in its efforts to maintain law and order across the state.
