The command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to him, the incident occurred on March 30, 2026, at about 1:30 p.m., following a tip-off from a vigilant resident who reported sighting a Toyota Sienna bus loaded with suspected vandalised items, including iron scraps and a gas cylinder.
Edafe said a patrol team, led by the Divisional Police Officer, was immediately dispatched to the location to verify the report.
“Upon noticing the presence of police operatives, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and escaped into a nearby bush,” he stated.
He added that the vehicle was subsequently recovered and taken to the police station for further investigation.
