He said the command achieved the feat in collaboration with other sister security agencies in the state.
“The command had discovered through credible intelligence the suspects’ hideouts, attacked them and had their weapons confiscated.
“The command equally recovered a reasonable number of exhibits from the suspected criminals.
“During interrogation, it was gathered that they have been involved in offences such as armed robbery, cultism, rape, murder and kidnapping,” Alamutu said.
The Commissioner of Police stated further that there had been a remarkable decline in the record of sundry cases of crimes in the past three months.
He added that the state had experienced a noticeable decrease in incidents of kidnapping, armed robbery, land-grabbing, sexual offences.
”There has been a decline, except for the recent cult-related crisis/murder which was recorded in Sagamu.
“So, we are closing up on the perpetrators.
“I therefore reassure the people of Ogun that the command under my watch will continue to make the state uncomfortable for all criminal elements, especially cultists and land-grabbers,” Alamutu said.
The Commissioner of Police pledged to relentlessly fight crime to a standstill, saying the state had however been relatively peaceful under his watch.
“However, the window of renunciation is still open to those willing to quit their membership of various cult groups and other acts of crime.
“My admonition goes to parents/guardians to sensitise their wards to steer clear of crime and tendencies of crime,” he said.(NAN). READ ALSO:
