The Nigeria Players’ Union, National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) has warned Clubs, especially those in the Nation-Wide League against submission of fake Insurance Certificate on behalf of their Players to the Nation-Wide League.
The Union says Investigation conducted by it revealed the unwholesome practice of some Clubs officials who are in the habit of presenting fake Insurance certificate of none existing insurance company to cover their Players participating in the nation – wide League thereby endangering the careers and lives of the players.
Also, the union’s finding revealed the fact that the Nation-Wide League already has an existing insurance policy build into its registration packages aimed at safe guarding the career and lives of the players and therefore request all the Clubs to key into this formalized arrangements instead of cutting corners at expense of the career and lives of the players.
The players Union has tabled the issue before the Nigeria Football Federation and the Trade Union Congress for necessary action.
Consequently, the union vowed to unveil the names and clubs involved in this unwholesome activities.
