Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick, will soon meet FIFA President Sepp Blatter, now that he appears to have scaled the hurdle of the Election Appeals Committee.
The NFF Election Appeals Committee headed by Okey Ajunwa, came up with two reports- ‘majority’ and ‘minority’ after its assignment.
Four members of the Committee came up with a ‘majority’ report upholding the September 30 election that produced the Amaju Pinnick-led executive committee.
However, the chairman, Mr. Ajunwa, disagreed with them, releasing a ‘minority report’ nullifying the election of Mr. Pinnick, his vice- Seyi Akinwumi, member representing the south east- Felix Anyansi and Sherif Inua.
But, the World football governing body FIFA on Tuesday backed the majority report, which upheld the results of the election held in Warri, Delta state in its entirety.
FIFA in a letter dated December 9, stated, “We note the majority decision of the electoral appeals committee to uphold in their entirety the results of the elective congress held in Warri on 30 September 2014,” read the letter in part.
“We are therefore pleased to be able to start working with the new office bearers headed by NFF president, Amaju Pinnick.
“We will contact you in the coming days to organise an introductory meeting between Mr Pinnick and FIFA president in Zurich.”
