President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick has told the nation’s elite and upcoming arbiters to do their job professionally and see how far they will go in their vocation.
Speaking to the referees at this year’s physical fitness exercise ongoing at the main bowl of the National Stadium, Abuja, Pinnick encouraged them to be courageous, disciplined, diligent and God –fearing in the discharge of their duties.
“I believe we have very good referees in this country, which is why I have faith that come 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2022 FIFA World Cup, at least one Nigerian referee will be in action.
“I want to charge you to do your duties fearlessly, with truth as your watchword. If you do your work diligently, you will rise to the zenith of your profession.”
The NFF President declared that it was time for persons and institutions involved in every aspect of the Nigeria game to turn a new leaf.
“Now, we want to do things differently, in a positive way. We are demanding sincerity and courage from everyone, whether they be referees, coaches, administrators or other workers in football. I believe we will get good response from everyone because I know that we have a lot of committed and sincere persons in the football sector.”
