Jose Peseiro is full of excitement following his nomination for the 2024 International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) Men’s World Best National Team Coach award.
Peseiro is among the 20 top coaches nominated for the award.
The Portuguese guided Super Eagles to second position at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
It’s the first time the former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach will be nominated for prestigious award.
“Very proud and pleased to receive this nomination from IFFHS, a recognition that reflects the hard work and dedication that my coaching staff and I have invested over the years in serving the Nigerian national team. The records we break go down in history, as well as the unforgettable walk to the final of the AFCON,” he wrote on X.
“Thanks to the Nigerian Football Federation, the players for the dedication they showed in every training session and competition, and also the entire staff and fans who supported us and believed in our work.
“I also want to thank my family on a personal level for their constant support and encouragement.”
