The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone B rose from its Zonal Convention recently, electing Comrade Pedro Chibuzo-Ogume Obi as the Coordinator.
Comrade Obi, polled 37 votes to defeat his closest rival, comrade Bassey Eka from Unical who polled 23 votes.
The election was conducted during the convention held on December 19, at the Federal College of Land Resources and Technology, Oforola in Owerri, Imo state.
Comrade Ekutu Onoriode Richard from the Uniben cane third, scoring 18 votes.
For the position of Deputy Coordinator, Chuks Okafore from FUTO was unanimously endorsed by the delegates and was so returned as the winner.
Felix Nwizua from UNIPORT was unanimously endorsed by the delegates and returned as the Secretary General.
Other positions are: Director of Sports, Sunday Ibeh from Uniben; Financial Secretary, Joshua Nwachukwu from Abia State University; Director of Special Duties, Ekuma Tochukwu from UNIZIK.
Also elected are: Public Relation Officer, Victor Ezenagu from ESUT; Assistant Secretary General, Onyekachi Jennifer from Ebonyi State University.
According to a Communique issued, the convention/election was adjudged was peaceful, well attended by senators who are Union Presidents of the entire Tertiary Institutions of the Zone.
