The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has removed its chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Dr. Haliru Bello Mohammed.
However, pending the appointment of a substantive chairman, the Secretary of BoT, Senator Walid Jibril, is to double as Acting Chairman/Secretray.
Mr. Mohammed was removed because of his alleged involvement in the disbursement of $2.1 billion meant for arms purchase but diverted for political purposes by the former NSA Sambo Dasuki.
Jibil made the announcement on Wednesday at the PDP National Headquarters at Zone 5, Wuse District in Abuja.
It will be recalled that the National Working Committee (NWC) had, in a statement on Monday, postponed the proposed meetings of the National Caucus, the BoT and the National Executive Committee (NEC), which were earlier scheduled this week for the adoption of a new National Chairman for the party.
