By Olusegun Lawrence Members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives have called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release forthwith, the party’s National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, the Minority Leader in the House, Leo Ogor, noted that the continued detention of Metuh, was a clear breach of the Rule of Law.
The PDP spokesperson has been in EFCC detention since last week Tuesday, allegedly for collecting N400 million from the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) who disbursed $2.1 billion funds meant for arms purchase for political purposes.
Ogor, who spoke on behalf of PDP reps members, asked EFCC to release Metuh within 48 hours or arraign him in court.
He said the party would involve the international community should the anti-graft agency fails to release him as demanded.
