Two individuals, James Ayuba (31) and Sophia Suleiman (34), were on Friday arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Karu, Abuja, for allegedly stealing a driver’s mobile phone and N20,000 cash.

The duo is facing a three-count charge bordering on joint criminal acts, theft, and being members of a gang of thieves. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutor Olanrewaju Osho told the court that the complaint was lodged by Mr. Joseph Gbenda of Kubwa, Abuja, at the Karu Police Station on June 18.

According to Osho, the incident occurred on June 17 when Mr. Gbenda transported the defendants in his car from Area 1, Garki, to Nyanya.

After dropping them off, he noticed his Infinix Smart 3 phone and N20,000 cash were missing.
