Pandemonium in Imo Assembly, 6 lawmakers suspended

Imo State has become the proverbial “sick child” of the South East geopolitical zone, as the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem, unilaterally suspended six key members of the House. 


Pandemonium broke out inside the Chamber when sporadic gunshots were heard outside the Assembly Complex immediately the Speaker announced the suspension of the six members.


On hearing the gunshots, Speaker Emeziem who was still having altercation with one of the suspended Members, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu, APC Ikeduru, took off but was ambushed by the thugs who took him away to unknown location. 


The six active House Members suspended by the Speaker for reasons yet to be made public are: 


1. Uche Ogbuagu, Ikeduru LGA, APC

2. Barr. Anyadike, Ezinihitte-PDP

3. Ezerioha Dominic,     Oru West-PDP

4. Philip Ejiogu,  Owerri North-PDP

5. Michael Onyemaechi Ihitte/Uboma-APC

6. Kennedy Ibe,   Obowo LGA-APC


Meanwhile, one of the suspended Members was overheard in the video trending in the social media telling the abducted Speaker that his reign as Speaker has ended on Thursday with the action he took by suspending six active Members.
