Outgoing Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has again been warned not to waste the state’s scarce resources on the conduct of local government elections scheduled for October 15, 2022.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gave the warning in a statement by its chairman in the state, Dr. Akindele Adekunle.
He pointedly said should the Oyetola-led government go ahead with the council elections, such illegally elected officials would not last beyond November 27, 2022.
Dr. Adekunle, enjoined the good people of Osun state to boycott the council elections.
“Anyone who emerged from the illegal election will be dissolved after November 27.
“The reason for this is simply because our party will never condone any act of illegality, which is the clear reflection of the planned exercise,” the statement reads in part.
Prompt News Online reports that the Governor-Elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is expected to take over as governor of the state on November 27, 2022.
