The 2017 edition of Kano Economic & Investment Summit, also called #KanInvest is billed to commence next week Tuesday, May 23.
According to the organisers, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the President of Niger Republic, Mr. Mahamadou Issoufou, are expected to grace the two-day event.
The theme of the 2017 conference is ‘Transforming The Kano Economy: Turning Challenges Into Opportunity’.
During the summit, stakeholders are expected to brainstorm on issues affecting the country’s economy especialy as it concerns Kano state and profer solutions.
The summit will feature seven sessions. Some of the speakers include former Head of State, Mr Yakubu Gowon; Minister of Budget and National Planning, Mr Udo Udoma; Chairman of Nigeria Flour Mills, Mr John George Coumantaros; UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Paul Arkwright; US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Stuart Symington; Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Zhou Pingjian; among others.
Some of the topics slated for discussions are: Kano Economy and Society, Attracting Investments for Growth and Empowerment, Optimising growth potentials of key sectors of Kano Economy, Infrastructure for Development, Governance and Institutions and Investors’ Roundtable.
