Victor Osimhen has reiterated his commitment to Galatasaray, insisting he will continue to give his all for the Turkish giants following their impressive 2-1 victory over Fenerbahçe in a fiercely contested derby.
The Nigerian striker delivered a decisive performance, scoring twice to help Galatasaray claim all three points and return to the top of the Turkish Super Lig standings.
Osimhen broke the deadlock in the 29th minute before doubling his side’s lead shortly before half-time.
The forward doubled Galatasaray’s advantage in the 44th minute, heading home from Davinson Sánchez’s effort to give the Yellow and Reds a comfortable lead at the break.
Despite Fenerbahçe’s efforts to mount a comeback, Galatasaray maintained their advantage to secure a crucial victory in one of Turkish football’s biggest fixtures.
The 27-year-old’s impressive display came after recent criticism of his performances. He had also found the net in Galatasaray’s 4-2 UEFA Champions League victory over his former club, Lille, last week, further underlining his return to form.
Despite the scrutiny surrounding his performances, Osimhen has made it clear that his focus remains on helping Galatasaray achieve success rather than responding to criticism on social media.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Nigeria international reaffirmed his love for Galatasaray and praised the supporters for their unwavering backing since his arrival.
“There were discussions before the match this week. I love this club. I always say it. I will give everything for this club. I don’t care about social media. I see the fans. Galatasaray fans have always been behind me since I arrived,” Osimhen said.
He also expressed gratitude for the support extended to him and his loved ones, explaining that the fans’ encouragement remains his primary motivation.
“They supported my family, me, and my friends. I focus on the fans’ support, not on unimportant things. I look at my team. I believe we will achieve even greater successes,” he added.
