The lawmaker representing Ile-Oluji/ Okeigbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency, Hon Festus Adefiranye has moved a motion on the need for rehabilitation and dualisation of Ore-Ondo-Akure federal road.
Adefiranye who moved the motion on the floor of the house, said the 88. 41kilometer road has been earmarked for dualisation by the federal ministry of works several years ago.
According to him, it is unfortunate that efforts by successive government to construct the road have failed to yield desired results.
He added that the road section that took off from Akure traversed several cities, communities and towns in Akure south, Ondo east, Ondo West, Odigbo local government areas.
He urged the national assembly to instruct the ministry of works and housing to include the reconstruction and dualisation of Ore-Ondo and Akure federal road in the 2024 budget estimate and prirotise the funding of the budget.
He also urged the federal government to award the road project to reliable and competent company and ensure its timely completion to ease the suffering of Nigerians and promote economic growth.
