The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state, on Monday elected Mr Eyitayo Jegede as its governorship candidate.
Announcing the results, the Chairman PDP primary election committee for Ondo state, Bayesla state Governor Seriake Dickson, said Jegede scored 760 votes.
His arch rival, Mr. Saka Lawal managed to poll 22 votes.
Governor Dickson consequently declared Mr. Jegede winner and governorship candidate of the PDP.
Prompt News recalls that Mr. Jegede resigned his appointment as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo state last month to join the gubernatorial race.
Mr. Jegede, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) is from Akure, Ondo Central Senatorial district.
