A woman based in Akure, Ondo State, Sandra Osatuyi, has cried out over the mysterious death of two of her daughters in Ibadan, Oyo State, while alleging that her third child is missing.
The distraught mother appealed to security agencies and members of the public to assist in locating her surviving daughter, claiming the girl has not been handed over to her despite a directive from the police.
Findings revealed that the three girls had been living with their father, Olofintayo Moses Akinpelumi Adekunle, an officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service, after his marriage to Osatuyi ended in 2000 in Akure.
Adekunle was said to have later moved to Ibadan with the children and remarried, making his new wife the girls’ stepmother.
Tragedy struck last Wednesday when two of the daughters, Prosper Olofintayo, 14, and Elizabeth Olofintayo, 12, along with their stepmother, reportedly died under suspicious circumstances at their home in the Eleta area of Ibadan, with residents suspecting poisoning.
The deceased girls were later buried in Ibadan, but Osatuyi alleged that her eldest daughter, Precious-Praise Olofintayo, 18, who survived the incident, has not been seen since the burial.

Osatuyi said she had reported the situation to the Oyo State Police Command and urged authorities and relevant organisations to intervene, noting that the police had earlier instructed her former husband to release the teenager into her custody.
