Ondo State House of Assembly has expressed confidence that the kidnapped choristers of Christ Apostolic Church, Odubanjo Regional Headquarters Oke – Igan, Akure, who were kidnapped along Owo/Ose axis last Friday while going for a burial ceremony will be released soon unhurt.

The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abayomi Akinruntan made this known while leading other members on a visit to CAC Oke – Igan on behalf of the speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji.
While sympathizing with the church, the Deputy Speaker described the incident as unfortunate.
According to him, there’s a law put in place for kidnapping and it’s time to go back to the drawing board to find a way to review the law and see how it can be strengthened to ensure that the lives and property of the people of Ondo State are protected.
He added that the House would also laise with the security agencies to ensure that maximum security are being put in place along the road, so that people traveling in and out of Ondo State can travel safely.
In his reaction, the Regional Supretendent, Odubanjo Region, Pastor Benjamin Akande appreciated the team led by the Deputy Speaker for their visit, stressing that it shows that the House have them in mind.
He added that the church had been praying for the release of the remaining members since the incident happened . READ ALSO:

The church members were met in large numbers, praying to God for the safe return of the remaining 17 members.
It would be recalled that eight out of twenty five kidnapped choristers escaped from the abductors on Saturday.
