The mother of the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon Oba Francis Alao, Deaconess Margaret Oyeronke Alao, is dead.
The monarch, in a statement on Friday, said Mama Oyeronke Alao died early Friday morning after a brief illness. She was 81 years old.
Mourning his loving mother, Oba Alao, who is the second child of the deceased, described Mama as a devout Christian who spent her active years in the work of ministry, working with her late husband Pastor Amos Alao.
They both served as priests with the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) until the times of their passage. Pastor Alao slept in the Lord over 12 years ago.
According to the monarch, his parents pastored churches in several cities and communities including Akure, Osogbo and Ogbomoso.
Oba Alao, who prayed God to repose the soul of his mother, said burial arrangements will be announced later.
