Former Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale has joined Italian club Como 1907 on a free transfer following her exit from Mexican side Pachuca, Prompt News Online reports.
The 34-year-old centre-back brings a wealth of experience to the Italian outfit after spending three years with Pachuca, where she scored six goals in 81 league appearances.
Ohale is set for a second spell in Italian football, having previously played for AS Roma in 2020.
The Nigerian defender expressed excitement about her return to the country, describing her move to Como as a positive new challenge.
“I’m happy to return to Italy and embark on this new experience here in Como; I have a very positive feeling about it. I’m ready to do whatever the coach asks of me to help the team,” she said, as quoted on the club’s official website.
Como 1907 Women’s Technical Director Nils Nielsen welcomed the signing, pointing to Ohale’s extensive international experience and defensive attributes as key strengths she will bring to the squad.
“Osinachi is a very experienced and good defender. Representing Nigeria for more than 15 years, many as captain, her international experience is extremely valuable for us,” Nielsen said.
He further praised her positional awareness, one-on-one marking skills and aerial ability, expressing confidence that these qualities would strengthen the team’s defence.
Ohale, who has represented Nigeria for more than 15 years, will now look to make an impact at Como as she begins another chapter in her professional career.
