Nigeria international Igoh Ogbu has successfully undergone surgery after suffering an injury while on international duty, Prompt News Online reports.
The centre-back ruptured his Achilles tendon just days before the Super Eagles’ international friendly against Portugal.
His club, Slavia Prague, confirmed that the operation was successful and revealed that the 26-year-old is expected to be sidelined for approximately three months.
The injury means Ogbu is likely to miss the start of the 2026/27 season.
Before the setback, Ogbu had established himself as a regular in Eric Chelle’s side, featuring in three consecutive matches for the Super Eagles.
The former Nigeria youth international was part of the squad that won the Unity Cup invitational tournament, playing against Zimbabwe and Jamaica. He also featured in the first half of Nigeria’s 2-2 friendly draw with Poland.
