The National Universities Commission (NUC), has approved the establishment of four more programmes at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria Distance Learning Centre, effective from 2023/2024 academic session.
Malam Auwalu Umar, Director, Public Affairs Directorate of the University disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Zaria.
Umar said that the approval was conveyed to ABU in a letter from the commission dated June 11, and signed by the Commission’s Ag. Director, Open Distance and e-Learning, Dr. Funmilayo Morebise.
He said the four programmes, which are to be run via the Open and Distance Learning mode are B.Sc Mass Communication, Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS).
Others are Masters in Accounting and Masters in Disaster and Risk Management (MDRM).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this brings to 21 the number of academic programmes established and run at the Centre against six in 2020. (NAN).
