The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has urged the newly- promoted officers of Jigawa command to be more committed and dedicated to duty.

The Commandant, Jigawa Command of NSCDC, Alhaji Garba Muhammad, stated this in a statement issued by the command’s Spokesman, Mr Adamu Shehu, in Dutse on Tuesday.

The statement quoted Muhammad as making the call shortly after decorating 83 affected officers with their new ranks, at the command’s headquarters.

The commandant also urged them to see their promotion as an added responsibility.

‎He enjoined them to be more dedicated to their new responsibilities, saying that “to whom much is given, much is also expected.”

Muhammad further emphasised the need for the officers to join hands in actualising the NSCDC Commandant- General’s agenda to move the corps to greater heights.

Speaking at the event, the Controller of Correctional Service in the state, Mr Abubakar Guri, also urged the promoted officers to reciprocate the gesture by discharging their duties professionally.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that six of the officers were promoted from Assistant Commandants of the Corps (ACCs) to Deputy Commandants of the Corps (DCC), while 11 Chief Superintendent of the Corps (CSCs) moved to Assistant Superintendents of the Corps (ASCs).

Also, six Superintendents of the Corps (SCs) were promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendents of the Corps (CSCs) and three Deputy Superintendents of the Corps (DSCs) to Superintendents of the Corps (SCs)

Others were 46 Assistant Superintendents of the Corps II (ASCs II) who moved to Assistant Superintendents of the Corps I (ASC I) and 11 Inspectors of the Corps II (ICs II) to Inspectors of the Corps I (IC I).

Speaking on behalf of the newly-promoted personnel, Shehu pledged that they would continue to discharge their duties with high sense of responsibility and commitment. (NAN)
