The Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gbenga Agun, has died after collapsing at a public event in Benin City on Thursday.
As reported by Daily Post, Agun was attending a programme organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates when he slumped shortly after delivering a keynote address.
He was immediately rushed to the Military Hospital along Airport Road, Benin City, but doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.

As of press time, neither the Edo State Command nor the NSCDC national headquarters had issued an official statement on the incident.
