The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, says it has arrested three suspects for allegedly dealing in adulterated diesel.
Mr Hammed Abodunrin, NSCDC State Commandant, made this known while presenting the suspects before newsmen on Thursday in Akure.
He said that four trucks filled with 39,000 litres of diese were also impounded.
Abodunrin said that the suspects were arrested at different locations at Ore Town in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State on July 11 by the Anti-vandal Unit of the Command.
He also said the success of the command in combating the rising rate of criminalities in the state was due to continuous training and re-training of personnel.
Abodunrin explained that another truck marked Yobe NNR 206 XA was impounded while the suspects ran away on sighting the anti-vandal squad.
The commandant said that thourough investigation was ongoing and all the suspects would be charged to the court.
According to the him, the command’s Intelligence Department has begun a man-hunt to fish out those suspects that ran away.
“Our commitment to fighting vandalism, illegal oil bunkering and illegal dealings in petroleum products remains unwavering.
“The command has zero tolerance for criminalities, hence, all perpetrators are to either relocate out of Ondo State or meet their waterloo,” he said.(NAN)
