The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), says it has arrested seven suspects for allegedly vandalising streetlight cables in Kano State.
This is contained in a statement by the Spokesman of the Corps, DSC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, on Thursday in Kano.
He said that operatives of the Corps arrested the suspects during a raid to rid the state of criminal elements vandalising critical national assets and infrastructure.
Idris-Abdullahi said that four of the suspects (nameswitheld) had been arrested for allegedly receiving 150mm stolen armored cable at Dulu Mariri Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.
He said that operatives of the Corps deployed to Nasarawa Division apprehended three other suspects (nameswithheld) for alleged vandalism and theft of streetlight armored cables at Tudun Murtala quarters in Kano metropolis.
“Operatives of the Corps are on the trail of two other suspects who are now at large,” he said.
According to him, investigation has been completed, and the suspects would soon be charged to court. (NAN). READ ALSO:
