Premier League club Nottingham Forest have activated the one-year extension in Ola Aina’s contract, Prompt News reports.
The Tricky Trees are desperate to tie the Nigeria international to a long-term contract but are yet to achieve their objective.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have now decided to trigger the one-year contract extension in order to keep him at the club for the 2025/26 season.
There is still interest in Aina from clubs in the Turkish Super Lig.
The 28-year-old scored twice and registered one assist in 35 league appearances for the Tricky Trees last season.
He joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in 2023.
