The Ebonyi chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has elected its executives in the state.
Mr Mike Ene, Returning Officer for the Congress, announced the executives after its Congress in Abakaliki on Tuesday night.
Ene said Mr Ogugua Egwu, elected as the new Chairman, polled 246 votes, while his closest rival, Obasi Bornblessed, got 186 votes.
“The person in the third position, Emmanuel Mbam, polled 57 votes,” Ene added.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that other executives elected are: Treasurer; Mrs Aligwe Oshim, and Mr Nkwuda Nwode, internal Auditor, while Ewwa Stanley was elected Vice Chairperson.
In his speech, Egwu, the new Chairman, thanked electoral officials for the Congress and pledged to work hard to ensure better workers’ well-being in the state. (NAN)
