A group under the aegis of Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) has described the recent alleged forgery of the 2014 Revised National Judicial Council (NJC) Rules over an incorruptible Judge of Osun State High Court, Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede as national embarrassment and satanic in nature which was a sign of a failed judicial system in a democratic Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the group disclosed that it had concluded arrangement to begin the battle for redress of this injustice and inhuman verdict of the apex body of the bencher (NJC) against the courageous Justice
Folahanmi Oloyede, saying that this injustice could not stand the test of the time because anything build on falsehood would never stand.
Speaking after the emergency meeting of the group to review its activities on the subject matter in the last few days that the NJC through its Acting Director of Information, Mr. Soji Oye handed down the outcome of its 77th meetings, the group Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman noted that the group would fight this cause to the end by ensuring that justice was done to the courageous jurist, adding that this singular action of the NJC has brought the great stigma to the nation’s judicial system under Justice Mahmud Muhammed before the international community as the country “when money speaks, the truth is silent”.
This was contained in a Statement issued by the CSCEOS’ Directorate of Media, Research and Strategy which a copy was made available to newsmen on Sunday, explained that the group and other well-meaning Nigerians at home and abroad had also concluded to honour the courageous and incorruptible jurist of the season, Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede with a book to be titled; “Justice Oloyede: The
Heroine of Nigeria Judiciary”.
According to the statement: “CSCEOS is not disappointed with the National Judicial council(NJC) doctored and manipulated verdict on the incorruptible Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede because when five of us were still before Justice Ibrahim N. Auta led Panel of enquiry on the subject matter, the Nigerian Tribune of Wednesday 9th of March,2016 edition reported in page 16 with a caption that “Rickey Tarfa: NJC to queries Justice Yunusa, set for others probe with a rider, Report on Osun Judge ready ” without rebuttal from the National Judicial Council(NJC) till this present moment. Our appearance as a witness last before the Panel on April 22, 2016 and the Counsels for both parties made their final submission to the Auta Panel on June.
“To confirm our disposition that Governor Rauf Aregbesola bought the National Judicial Council (NJC) verdict, Aregbesola and Justice Ibrahim N. Auta were in London few days ago for inordinate meeting to
review their premeditated action on Justice Olamide Oloyede and this development is a national embarrassment before the international community for the apex body of the bench in the land to throw the caution into the wind by going against its rules to unjustly recommend compulsorily retirement for incorruptible and courageous jurist at a time majority of Nigeria Judges failed corruption test”.
The statement further reads thus ,”As a result of this, NJC now fraudulently used the newly rule 1(1) and 5 of the 2016 Revised Code of Conduct for Judicial officers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to sanction incorruptible Justice Olamide Oloyede for the alleged unsubstantiated offences committed in June 2015 while the 2014 National Judicial Council –Judicial discipline Regulations were invoked for Judicial Officers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and this is a clear violation of NJC rules by attending to the Petition authored by the criminals and diabolical agenda of NJC led by Justice Mahmud Muhammed and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo with Rauf Aregbesola.
