The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Oyo State Command on Tuesday decorated 58 newly promoted officers with new ranks.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that out of the 58 decorated officers, seven were promoted to Deputy Comptroller of Immigration and six to Assistant Comptroller of Immigration.
Speaking during the ceremony in Ibadan, the Oyo State NIS Comptroller, Adepeju Lawal, commended the Comptroller- General of Immigration and the Ministry of Interior for the promotion of the officers.
Lawal said that promotion would motivate the officers to work harder.
She urged the promoted officers to live up to the expectation of their new status through discipline and dedication.
Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated officers, DCI Victoria Oyoyo, said that the promotion was a call to higher duties and responsibilities.
Oyoyo thanked the management of the service for making the much desired and awaited promotion a reality.
“I am very grateful to God almighty for this promotion and use this opportunity to appreciate everyone, who supported us to make this day a reality.
“Promotion comes with enormous responsibilities and elevation. We promise not to disappoint the service.
“We also promise to put in our best efforts and carry out our duties as required to justify the promotion,” she said. (NAN)
