The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted sunny and hazy conditions across the country from Monday to Wednesday.

According to the weather outlook released by NiMet on Sunday in Abuja, the northern and North Central regions will experience sunny skies with hazy conditions throughout the forecast period.

The southern regions are expected to face hazy weather with occasional cloud cover during the same period.

On Tuesday, NiMet predicts similar sunny and hazy weather for the North and North Central states.

The southern region will continue to experience hazy conditions with intermittent cloud patches.

There is also a chance of localized thunderstorms in parts of Ogun, Delta, Lagos, Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa states.

Wednesday will see sunny and hazy weather over the northern and North Central regions. The southern part of the country is likely to remain hazy with occasional clouds. NiMet anticipates thunderstorms in parts of Ogun, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Lagos, Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa states later in the day.

The agency has urged the public to take precautions due to the suspended dust particles in the atmosphere. It advised individuals with respiratory issues, such as asthma, to be cautious of the weather conditions. NiMet also warned that strong winds might precede thunderstorms in affected areas, urging the public to heed safety advisories.

Airline operators are encouraged to seek specific weather reports for airports from NiMet to support effective planning for their operations. NiMet further advised residents to stay informed through its updates and visit its website at www.nimet.gov.ng.
