Abisoye Odusote- Coker, Director-General, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), has approved the distribution of additional enrollment systems to all the states of the federation.
She said it was part of steps to ease NIN enrollment challenges and increase operational capacity.
This was announced in a statement signed by the Head, Corporate Communications of NIMC, Mr Kayode Adegoke, in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the additional enrolment devices underscores the commitment of the NIMC to streamline operations and enhance overall effectiveness.
Odusote- Coker said the systems had been installed and in use across the states and resulted in the reduction of time spent by applicants in accessing the service.
She said monitoring and evaluation teams were sent across various centres nationwide to ensure a smooth running of enrolment and modification exercises.
“The team will also ensure strict compliance with her zero tolerance stance against all forms of extortion and unethical practices,” Coke-Odusote said.

She said her administration would not condone extortion of applicants and had since directed that any staff found wanting would be dealt with in line with the provisions of the constitution and extant Public Service Rules.
