Nigeria’s First Lady and President of the African First Ladies Peace Mission, Patience Faka Jonathan, has welcomed the election of the Mayor of Bangui, Madame Catherine Samba-Panza, as the new interim president of the Central African Republic (CAR).
In a statement in Abuja on Tuesday, the First Lady stated that the election of a woman, who is the first female to lead that African country, offered renewed hope in bringing about reconciliation in the Central African Republic.
Mrs. Jonathan, noted that Samba-Panza, who has made her mark as a successful corporate lawyer and business woman will undoubtedly use her leadership qualities as a dexterous and effective achiever to bring peace to the CAR.
The First Lady wishes Madame Catherine Samba-Panza, the very best in her tenure as the interim president.
