By Gracious Akujobi Determined to boost the existing cordial sporting relationship between them, Nigeria and Cameroun have agreed to hold biennial Games in alternate successions.
This is part of the nine-point communiqué issued at the end of a three-day technical meeting of experts of both countries on Sports and Physical Education held at the Velodrome of the National Stadium, Abuja.
Director General of National Sports Commission (NSC), Gbenga Elegbeleye who read out the communiqué says both countries agreed to facilitate youth exchange programmes in sports by way of invitation to national teams, school sports and other institutional and inter-collegiate sports.
This they say will help to boost grassroots sports development, unity and cultural integration, prepare teams from both countries for the All Africa Games, Commonwealth Games, Olympics Games and other global sports engagements.
They are also to support each other in the bidding and hosting of international sports competition.
Concluding, Elegbelye emphasized the long standing cordial relationship between both countries and the immense advantage that will accrue to them when the protocol agreement becomes fully operational.
