The Niger Delta Peace Initiatives in collaboration with the Niger Delta Youth Association will be engaging Activists, Community Leaders (Nigeria and UK), Journalists, NGO’s and Civil Society leaders to focus on the current events in the Niger Delta.
A statement by the President, Annah Tonbara Buseri, says the forum is aimed at providing long term solutions that will result in sustainable peace and development of the region.
It is scheduled to hold on July 2, 2016, at 356 Holloway Road London, N7 6PA by 14.00 hours.
“The Niger Delta is back again in 2016. This time, another Group called Avengers, has emerged from the Niger Delta with a clearly defined objective of cutting-off the economic life-line of Nigeria, perhaps, to register their dissatisfaction with the manner in which, issues affecting Niger Delta have been dealt-with by successive Governments in Nigeria.
“Thus, they have offered another opportunity to Nigerians to sit-up and take a critical look at their country for the final time and take the courage to reshape the Country for good.
We see Nigerians confused, lamenting about the levels of corruption and abuse of power, but do not have the courage to restructure the Country and free our beloved Nigeria from self-destruction.
“We believe that a peaceful and developed Niger Delta will usher in Social and Economic stability in Nigeria and the West Coast of Africa.
“It is that desire to achieve the above objectives, that a Town Hall Meeting of Concerned Niger Deltans and their well- wishers.
“The Region holds the key to the stability and development of our beloved, country – Nigeria,” the organizers said.
