The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved the appointments of Abdu Maikaba and Eboboritse Uwejamomere as the new head coaches of the Flying Eagles and Golden Eaglets respectively.
Maikaba, a vastly experienced tactician, has previously handled several top Nigerian clubs and also had a stint with the Golden Eaglets. He served as assistant coach of the Flying Eagles during Paul Aigbogun’s tenure as head coach.
The soft-spoken coach has managed notable NPFL sides including Enyimba, Wikki Tourists, Kano Pillars, and Plateau United. He notably guided Akwa United to victory in the 2017 President Federation Cup.
Uwejamomere, who takes charge of the five-time world champion Golden Eaglets, has worked for several years as a coach-analyst with the Super Eagles.
The young tactician currently serves as Head of Academy at Sporting Lagos, which recently secured promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
He has also worked as an analyst with the Super Falcons and held youth development coaching roles at Millwall, Gillingham, and Nottingham Forest in England.
